The weather was quite nice when we got back to Edinburgh from the Highlands so we made our way up to the Royal Mile. Atop this ancient volcanic rock sits the Edinburgh Castle as well as some of the prettiest buildings we have ever seen. Everything rises towards the castle on the far end. Hard to imagine all of this could be built so long ago with the resources they had back then. Beautiful place.....
As the sun began to set, we made our way to our favorite eatery along the Royal Mile. Gordon's Trattoria. Great way to end the evening. Tomorrow, it's off to St Andrews for a couple of days before we head back to the States.
